Get out Alive Chapter 2"Ira!" I heard my dad call. I looked at my watch. 11:30 already? I realized I hadn't eaten and my stomach began to rumble. I once again paused my music (Skillet's 'The Last Night') and made my way into the living room.

"Dad? Where are you?"

"Kitchen. Do we have any food?"

"Uh…we have stuff from Hooters. Mom turned responsible for once and brought something home." Dad didn't seem to hear me as he raided what was left of the fridge. I guess I wouldn't get anything to eat, after all.

"Where's your mom?" I noticed how he referred to her as my mom, meaning he wasn't referring to her as his loving, caring wife. Figures. Mom never spoke of

TranslucentI remember that sunny day in July, when we moved as one and thought as one and acted as one. Then somehow…you changed. We began to move out of sync, think out of sync, and act out of sync. I wasn't sure what had happened, just that you no longer seemed to care about me at all.

Sobs keep escaping,

Why couldn't my life be different?
Why did it have to be this?
Why do I have so little promise, such a hopeless future? Why me?

Unexplained emotions
keep me swimming towards the surface,
always underwater, always gasping for breath as I am crushed by the pressure.
I kick and kick to the open world – away from this hell – but each time I think I've gotten
out of this unbelievably deep ocean of feelings,
somehow, I end up at the bottom aga

Brown BunnyThe clock read 1:44am,
yet I had no desire for sleep.
I let my mind wander.

My eyes found my old stuffed bunny
whom I shared my childhood with.
He was scruffy, so scruffy
I didn't even remember how soft he once was.

It had been a while
since I'd hugged my childhood friend,
yet there he sat, obediently
on my desk, his head resting
on my small chest which housed my secret stash of candy.

had I confided in my old friend?

had I held him as I cried?

I was at a pet store one time and turned around just in time to film one of the hamsters yawning. X3
Have you ever seen one yawn? It's terrifying. O.o
